Solder Machine Operator

 

Job Title: Solder Machine Operator                                                                            Department: Manufacturing

Reports to: Lisa DeLuca                                                                                               Effective Date: August 2025

 

Job Summary:

    • Setup, operate and maintain soldering equipment used for the assembly of printed circuit boards.

    Duties/Responsibilities:

    • Performs various types of machine soldering operations utilizing selective and wave soldering equipment.
    • Consults production schedule to prepare work area and equipment.
    • Gathers components needed to meet production schedules.
    • Sets up equipment and ensures proper operation.
    • Visually scans products prior to and after soldering to detect defects.
    • Documents production totals and any errors.
    • Consults with Engineering and QA to help resolve production issues.
    • Cleans work area and equipment.
    • Performs other duties as assigned

    Required Skills/Abilities:

    • Excellent hand-eye coordination required.
    • Ability to follow instructions.
    • Proficiency in reading and writing in English is essential for understanding documents, safety guidelines and quality standards.
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Excellent time management skills.
    • Ability to work in a fast paced manufacturing environment.
    • Ability to maintain flexibility and to change tasks to meet schedule demands.

    Minimum Education and Experience Required:

    • High School Diploma or equivalent.
    •  1 year of related work experience.
    • Good verbal and written communication skills.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Prolonged periods of sitting.
    • May need to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds at times.
